First ever DT card

It's my first week as an official DT member over at Crafty Creations!! yah!!! I've really enjoyed my 2 weeks as Miss August but this has been cut short as I'm now a 'fully fledged' member lol!!

The challenge this week is ' Winged Thing -  Z fold card' & is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish digital stamps.

The DT were lucky enough to chose one of three great images to use on their designs & I chose this lovely image. It was great to colour & such a sweet image.
I Googled Z-fold cards & found a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers which you could use by following this link, they are so easy to make & really add another dimension to your card.

I've used cardstock from my stash of Papermill card which was bought before I started using Stampin Up cardstock. I've used some DCWV paper which us from the 'Funky' pad. The image has been coloured using Copics & die cut with Nestabilities Labels One die. The lovely adhesive fibre is also from my stash as is the flower & lovely crystal brad & the butterfly is from Craftwork cards.

Come & join in with us at Crafty Creations.

Birthdays In August!!!

My youngest is mad on football & asked for all football related presents for her birthday & a football party. I'm secretly thrilled that she's such a Tomboy as I was right up until my teens & with two older sisters who are real girly girls it's nice to have football kits to wash instead of all pink lol!!!

As soon as I saw this image over at Mo's digital pencil I thought of Dara!! it could have been drawn for her & once I'd touched up the football kit to match hers!!!! well see for yourself with the photo below.

I've used Leeds Utd team colours (of course) but just had to add a bit of Kay & Co background papers with the cute little hearts. The stars are punched using an SU punch & then covered in stickles. The football ribbon is from my stash & the little football is cut using a Quickutz die.
They are back to the beginning over at ABC Challenge & so this week the letter is 'A' & the challenge is to interpret what August means to you. My youngest daughters birthday is 7th August & my husbands is 23rd August so this is a busy month for two of my main birthdays of the year.

I'm also entering this card over at Simon Says Challenge where the challenge this week is 'Sing It Baby' & they want you to link your projest to a song. Mine is Football Crazy by The Spinners!!!

Also over at Stamp Something there's a photo challenge & I've chosen the 'Birthday Card' option for my interpretation of the photo.

Thanks for looking & any comments you might leave.

Papertake Weekly - White & Bright

The challenge this week over at Papertake Weekly is to create something using white & at least one bright colour. I had a late order for an Engagement card where the couple have already got engaged (on her birthday) but the party is this Saturday. I decided to keep this card Clean & Simple and have again used the Cheers To You stamp set from Stampin Up, there, didn't I tell you it was versatile.

I've stamped on vellum & mounted on Melon Mambo cardstock from SU which has been distressed around the edges. This has then been mounted on another piece of vellum with little hearts on & then on top of a piece of white cardstock embossed using the Cuttlebug Hearts folder. I've finished off with some little heart crystals in the corners.

Yah!!!! I did it.

I made it on to the Design Team for Crafty Creations!!!! Can't wait to get going on my very first DT. Thanks so much CC!!!

Cute Card Thursday - Whateva!!

This weeks theme over at Cute Card Thursday is an open theme so you can do whatever you want. These are some gifts I made for my youngest daughters teacher as she has been so lovely all year & Dara has really enjoyed being in her class. I bought a plain notebook which had dividers in it & a plastic cover so this will protect the cover I've decorated.

I made a 'flap' & only attached it down the left hand side so the front cover of the notebook can still be seen. The hinge is just at the side of the white lace & the cardstock used is from Stampin Up. The pink paper which is from Kay & Co has been punched in the four corners using a Hobbycraft punch. I've made the flowers from Nestability die in two different sizes & then cut between the scallops to create a flower. I've made buttons using a Sizzix die to match the cardstock & finished off with some embroidery cotton. The flower stems are made using Bi Bunny ribbon which has been stapled using a mini stapler. The teachers name & class are computer printed.
I also made some Post It note holders using a download from the Shabby Shoppe Teachers Pet Gift Collection. These were so easy to make as you just print them out & follow the instructions which are printed along side the project. I've finished them off using some Papermania magnetic clasps which I bought from The Range.

Miss August

I can't believe it's over 3 weeks since I last posted!! Bad Blogger!!

Well I'm glad to be back after a hectic 3 weeks.

Firstly the build up to my girls breaking up from school. I'd decided to make teachers gifts this year & can certainly say I bit off more than I could chew . . . .almost. . . .  but the girls were delighted with the gifts I'd made for their teachers & the teachers were pleased as well so job done!!

I also had so many ordes to finish before the end of term both for work & people at the school I wouldn't see during the holidays.

Then I had visitors arrive from Australia on 23rd & we've done all the sight seeing stuff with them. Great times but exhausting & certainly no time to craft!!

So . . . . enough of the excuses!! I'm back & am so pleased to have been asked to guest DT for Crafty Creations for their next 4 challenges.

This weeks challenge is Wedding/Anniversary so I decided to do a 25th Wedding Anniversary card. The stamp is from the Stampin Up set Cheers to You & is a stamp I use quite alot as champagne glasses are so versatile. I've stamped on handmade paper & then wet the edges & torn around the image. This has been mounted on silver miri card & then onto a square of printed vellum. The whole thing is then mounted on white card & I've stamped the four corners using silver ink. I've wrapped some thin silver wire around the card & vellum & am really liking this effect. The sentiment is computer printed & then die cut using a sizzix oval window die.

Anyone For Anya - Colour Combo Guest DT card

The challenge this week at Anyone For Anya is a colour combo which is

" BLACK, WHITE & PINK "
I love these colours together!!

This is my final week of a 4 week guest DT spot & I've really enjoyed being part of the team at AFA. Please do try & join us this week.

The papers are from Dovecraft & are a hint of pink so perfect for this challenge.
The image is Anya from The Greetings Farm bought from Tracey at Dies To Die For. I've coloured her with Copics & have used the shades of warm grey (W1,3,5 & 7) instead of the blacks as they are not as harsh.
The LO is an old sketch LO that I turn to time & time again. I have included one of my signature flowers (note to self - must make more of these!!) & the black lace has been attached using mini staples. A bit of bling & a sentiment from Craftwork Cards to finish off & job done!

I sat little Anya out in the garden for her picture taking as it's been another gloreous weekend here in Leeds.

Thanks for looking.

Anyone For Anya - Anything Goes

Here is my third DT card for the Anyone For Anya Challenge blog.

This weeks challenge at Anything For Anya is 'Anything Goes' so I decided to go to town on techniques I haven't used for a while.

Firstly the style of card, an easel card, so effective!! I've only made an easel card once before & as I sell my cards it's not a card I make very often because once it's in it's celaphane jacket it's really hard to tell how much work has gone in to the card & as the sentiment is very often on the base, the top doesn't 'sell' the card (if you know what I mean??) so it's very often more trouble than it's worth.

So I decided to make this card for one of my daughters friends whose birthday it was yesterday so hopefully by the time you read this she will have figured out how the card stands up lol!!!

I've used the lovely Anya with shopping which is one of my favorite Anya images as all my girls & their friends love to shop so it's an image I use quite alot of!

I've paper-pieced her outfit, which is another technique I haven't used for a while, and coloured the rest of the image with copics.

The paper is from my stash & as it was really the focal point of the card I've only used a little bit of ribbon on the top of the card so as not to cover it up completely.

The ribbon is from Stampin Up as is the cardstock. I've printed the ticket on the PC & the sentiment is one of the little Studio G stamps.

Thanks for looking.
