Something For The Men

Hello & thanks for joining us on this months Blog Hop!

This month's hop is all about the men . . . . . . . . can I hear you groaning? I know most people find men's cards the most difficult to make so hopefully you'll get lots of inspiration on your journey around the Jem's Blogs today.

The set I've used is so perfect for men's projects but the sentiments mean it can also be used for lots of other occasions.

All the products are from the Urban Underground Suite & on just checking the stamps, dies & papers have all sold out!! Hopefully if you bought these products my projects will give you some ideas of what you can make with them.

I'd seen a couple of 'Card in a Box' projects on Pinterest so decided to have a go. Love how it looks like a little tool box. I'm loving the little ruler die as well!

I've layered the Fathers Day sentiment on the hexagon die shape which is also in the set.

And the little screws & nuts are so cute!

I also made a couple of cards using the dies, stamps & papers & also the fab Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder. The detail on this is so deeply embossed it gives a great effect.

And the ruler die is a great length so here I've used it to divide the card.

Did you notice the cute little face stamps that come in the set?

Here I've used it to give the hammer a bit of character as it's 'speaking' to the saw lol!

The sentiments in the set are a little bit quirky too so they're great for lots of occasions.

And here are both cards together.

Hope you've enjoyed my projects & will carry on through the rest of the hop. Click on the 'Next' button below to take you to Gill's blog or if you fancy working backwards the 'Previous' button below will take you to Anne's blog. Enjoy!

A Little Cool Treat

The Cool Treats Bundle is just one of those sets that you just can't put down! Here is a cute little 4" x 4" card to give to someone sweet!

I love the Tasty Treats Speciality Designer Series Paper with it's cute little images. There are also 2 sheets with a clear glossy coating over the designs & those are the only 2 sheets I have left but just can't bring myself to cut into them!

Doesn't that ice-cream look good enough to eat?
And the little spoon die cut is just too cute!

Can you see the shiny glaze on the chocolate topping? This is created using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen & then the sprinkles are just placed on top. The glue dries clear but without the stickiness of the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Would you like to know how I made the little bowl?

I took a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock & scored it on my Stampin' Up! Trimmer/Scorer at every 1/8".

Then take the bowl die & lay it on the scored cardstock at a slight angle. It's a quick & simple way of adding a bit of detail to an otherwise 'flat' feature on the card.

I hope you like today's project. If you would like to order any of the products I've used please click on the link in the right hand sidebar & use the online code below.

Cool Treats Pop & Twist Card

This card was definitely a hit at my Monthly Papercrafting Class last Saturday. Everyone was really pleased with how easy the card was to make even though the end result looks as though it's going to be difficult!

It looks very innocent when it's closed but POP!

it opens & has a definite WOW effect.

The tutorial is one I found on YouTube by Jan Brown & it's very easy to follow. She also gives all the UK measurements you need.

The Cool Treats stamps, dies & Designer Series Papers are perfect for this card. It also fits in an A6 envelope but would need a large letter stamp as it's very thick & heavy when finished.

This one however didn't make it to the postbox as my youngest daughter pinched it to give to her friend!

Thanks for visiting my blog today & hope you have a go at making this card. Happy crafting!

April Blog Hop - Easter Wishes

Well there goes another month! This year is whizzing past so quickly & it will soon be Easter.

I struggled a bit this month as I haven't got any current Easter stamps so had to think outside the box!

What did I have that remotely resembled an Easter egg? My Balloon Adventure Thinlet dies . . . . . .upside down!

Did you recognise them? I've diecut the balloons using the Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Paper. We're you lucky enough to get some? It proved to be a very popular choice & I know I had a couple of disappointed customers who missed out.

I can't decide whether I prefer the glitter eggs on a plain white background or on the Basic Grey background.

I also made a spring flower Easter card using the Flourish Thinlets. I've cut the leaves in Pear Pizzazz & the flowers in Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach & Sweet Sugarplum. The Lace Doily from the Spring/Summer Catalogue has been coloured using a Sponge Brayer and the Watermelon Wonder ink pad. A really quick & easy way to colour the doilies to match your project.

I've then placed the doily over the Whisper White Thick card & lightly brayered over it again using Watermelon Wonder to give a lovely lace effect directly on the card.

I've finished it off using the little wooden flowers from the Sending Love Embellishments. I've used two pieces that fit neatly together.

Next in the Blog Hop is Sarah-Jane & I'm sure she'll have a fab project for you!

I hope you've enjoyed my Easter projects and thankyou for visiting today. Happy Crafting!

Lift Me Up! Gift Bag

Today I'm sharing a project with you that we made at my 'Lift Me Up' Bundle Class I held a couple of weeks ago.

It's a really useful size bag made using 2  12" x 12" sheets of  Carried Away Designer Series Papers which are FREE during Sale-a-Bration. These papers are lovely & really complement the stamp set & dies. If you would like to view a video tutorial of how to make this bag please go to Julie Kettlewell's video on YouTube HERE

I've used the very detailed balloon die from the Up & Away Thinlets to make a 3D balloon for
the tag on the bag & one of the fab sentiments from the Lift Me Up stamp set. You can purchase both the dies & stamp set as a bundle & save 10% by clicking on my shop link in the right hand sidebar.

I've also use the oval from the Stitched Framelits set for the sentiment. These are definitely my most used framelits & I make no apology for using them at most of my classes. I'm secretly hoping Stampin' Up! bring out more stitched shapes soon!

Thanks for visiting my blog today & Happy Crafting!

If you are interest in becoming a Stampin' Up! Demostrator I would love you to join my team. Please click on the tab at the top of this page for more information.

March Blog Hop - Colour Challenge - Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron & Sweet Sugarplum

Hello & welcome to this months Jem's Blog Hop.

Firstly I must apologise for the terrible photos! It's been a very dull day here in Leeds today hence the dark photos. I will replace them tomorrow when hopefully it will be a bit brighter.

This month we have a colour challenge & have chosen the colours from the gorgeous new Sale-a-Bration freebie the Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack.

Although it's described as paper it's actually cardstock thickness so is ideal for die cutting.
As soon as I saw the glittering colours I knew it would be perfect for the balloon from the Up & Away Thinlet Dies.

I have both of these cards on the fireplace & when the light catches them they are very sparkly & eye catching.

The second card is one that we did at my March Monthly Class last week using the Carousel stamp from the Carousel Birthday stamp set.

I've used it to make the cute little cupcakes.

Thanks for visiting my blog today & joining us on our Blog Hop.
