Cute Card Thursday Challenge 11 - Katherina's Sketch

My shamefully late entry for this weeks challenge, a sketch from one of my favorite bloggers Katharina.
My Stampingbella Stamps arrived last week but as I was so busy I didn't have time to play with them until today. I love this Eloise Greengrass stamp & can see me using it alot. The DP is Papermania Retro Floral which I love & am on my second pad!! The flower & button are from Poppicraft & the lace & border are from my stash. The sentiment is from a recent visit to Craftwork Cards which I am very lucky to have just around the corner!! (lucky for me not my credit card lol!!)
Enter my blog candy while you're here. xx

Tilda & Co - Beads of Glory

Challenge 20
show some beads on your creation either beads on a ribbon or string or just a beaded embellishments

This is my card for this weeks challenge. My favorite (of my 2 LOL!!) Tilda stamp. The idea originally was to sit Tilda on the flower beads but then you could only see one bead at either side!! so I sat her behind the beads. I loved these little resin flower beads when I saw them but never got round to using them. That's what I like about these challenges, you get to use things from your stash that you've been hoarding LOL!!

Debs 40th Birthday Blog Candy

Debs is giving away some fab blog candy in honour of her 40th birthday. All you have to do is link to her blog & give her some ideas for celebrating the BIG day!!

Circle of Friends

I've been tagged by the very talented Kath with this fun Circle of Friends. I think I'm probably the tarty one with the split up to her a*s*. Well I've made so many lovely friends (a clue for the blog candy I'll be running when I'm nearer my 5000 hits) since I started blogging that it was easy to choose 4 but I could have chosen more.

So I'm passing this on to
Sammie Jay

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 2

All the cards I've made in the last few days have been orders for Holy Communions so it was nice to get an order on Friday for 4 different cards (big sister, baby boy, engagement & new home). I hadn't had chance to use my new Maggie 'big sister' stamp so knew exactly what to do for the first card & the Friday Sketchers Sketch was ideal. I'm still not sure about the blue scalloped circle behind the image but the person who ordered it was pleased.

Here are the other 2 cards from the same order

Back to the challenges

I think this is longest I've gone without posting on my blog but I haven't felt like making any cards since my marathon card making session last week. I had to start straight away on commissions I received at the Fayre on Saturday & the first one needed for today was a 90th birthday card. I received commissions for 2 birthday, 6 Communion & 2 wedding & each one chose the layout of the Golden Wedding Anniversary card posted earlier on my blog which I later adapted for FHC.

I stocked up this morning at my friends hairdressers & sold the prom card made for Cute Card Thursday & was asked to do a few more as it's prom season at the local school.

It was a good excuse to complete a couple of the sketch challenges I hadn't had chance to do yet so you'll have to forgive the repetitive theme !!

Friday Sketchers

This is a new Sketch Challenge blog & I really like the first sketch they've used. I made 3 of these prom cards & photographed 2 one with & one without the sentiment. As I've run out of red dresses I had to move on to a purple theme!

Funky Fairy #20 Sketch Challenge

This weeks Funky Fairy challenge is a sketch set by Jozza. I've rotated the sketch for my first prom card. This is the last on my little red dresses & the flowers I've made myself .

Phew - Thank goodness that's over !!!!

Well my card sale is over for another year!!! How much hard work was that for a 2 hour sale !!

I took a good selection of cards but as always there were one or two I didn't have. A 90th birthday card for (as the lady wanting it rather flipantly said) a woman who wasn't expected to live past Christmas!! so she didn't want anything cheerful. I would have thought it was a celebration that the lovely lady was still with us LOL!! and a male card for someone who didn't drink, didn't 'do' sport & she didn't know what his job was . . . . . . give me strength!!

This is the only sale I do as the rest of my cards are sold via hairdressers, staffrooms & friends workplace so that is enough to keep me going at the moment.

I took £92 in the 2 hours & have orders worth £35.00 so I was well chuffed as most of the cards were £1.75/£2.00.

Just glad I don't have to do one every week.
Thank you so much to everyone who wished me luck with the sale. It's very much appreciated.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 9 - Gems & Jewels

This weeks challenge is to use gems or jewels on your card. I must have had a premonition LOL!! as I made a batch of these cards yesterday for birthdays & this one for a prom night.

Blog Candy

Kitty is giving away some fantastic Blog Candy & you have until tomorrow to enter.

Arty Girlz & Funky Fairy Challenge's

I try not to double up on cards for challenges but I have a card sale on Saturday & at the moment I'm trying to get as many cards made as possible. I'm trying to do a cheap & cheerful selection as these seem to be the ones that sell. As we all know, people don't appreciate how much time & effort goes in to some of the cards we make & we could never charge an hourly rate LOL!!!
I'm using this card for the Arty Girlz challenge which is '3D' as I have decoupaged Maggie's dress. I'm also using it for the Funky Fairy Challenge which is 'Going Dotty' as I've used Papermania dotty paper both for the background & Maggie's dress.
I only got the Sugar Nellie stamp this morning but couldn't wait to use it. I think it's my new favorite, until the next purchase!!lol!!

You'll Never Guess . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . what I just did !!!
I received 4 Sugar Nellie stamps in the post this morning . . . . excitement . . . . as this takes my stamp collection up to 6 LOL!!
I had been tidying up in my craft room at the weekend & found the spare clingy strips from my See D stamp set I bought 2 years ago & have never used & decided to save some money & use these on the Sugar Nellies.

I've just spent an hour this morning cutting & positioning the clingy strips & settling my lovely new Nellies in to their carefully prepared CD case.

I've just set my stall out to stamp & colour my new beauties & every bit of clingy strip is stuck fast to the CD case & nothing to the back of the stamp !!!!

Looks like I should have stuck (pardon the pun) to Pritt LOL!!!

I'm still learning all about this stamping lark!!

Mojo Monda Week #36

As soon as I saw this weeks sketch this card popped in to my head but it was alot easier thinking up the design than putting it on to the card. I always find piecing sections on a card very difficult as I can never get the gaps the same distance apart on all the sections. It took 3 attempts before I was happy with this one.

There must be an easy way to do it . . . . . . . . any tips gratefully received!!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 8

This week, a nice easy theme, anything to do with gardens. Could be people gardening, having fun in the garden, a garden scene or perhaps some little animals you might find in the garden.
Make it cute and have loads of fun!
I enjoyed making this card as I haven't used my sizzix & quickutz garden dies for a long time. I was in such a hurry to get it finished that I used a Tilda I had already coloured but think now I should have stamped another & coloured it in orange tones! but would that have been too much orange ??
