OMG - I'm Reviewing A Film . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . for Richard & Judy!!!!!

I was taking a well deserved break this afternoon & doing a bit of blog hopping while watching Deal or No Deal & then Richard & Judy. Richard (I can call him that now we're on first name terms lol!!!) asked for people living in Leeds to email in to review The X-Files film next week, so, as I had my laptop on my knee, I emailed straight away . . . . . . . . . and . . . . . . . . one of their researchers phoned me this evening & asked me if I would do a review YAH!!!

I used to watch the X-Files years ago & love anything like that so at least it's a film I'll enjoy. I'm not allowed to wear any logo'd clothes & will be interviewd after the film of which a snippet (hopefully) will be shown on Richard & Judy next week (I think it's Friday)

My mum's told me NOT to talk with a Yorkshire accent lol!! a bit difficult having being born & brought up in Leeds but I'll try & 'talk posh' lol!!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 20 Things that grow

So here is the challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week.
Things that grow!
The obvious things would be plants etc but really there are lots more things that grow, we look forward to seeing your own interpretation

Well I went for the obvious & chose flowers . . . . .

This 'oh so cute' image was sent to me by Jacqui after I commented that I didn't have any Sarah Kay images. Thank you again Jacqui, I've really enjoyed colouring them.

The pink card is Bazzill Bling (my favourite) & the DP is Kay & Co matted on blue card. The seed packet was a free download from Mad About Cards & the gardening tools are Quickutz. I had great fun (NOT!!!) trying to stick down the resin flower beads as I only have a glue gun or Anitas Sticky so I chose the glue gun so you can imagine what a mess I got in to as the beads are so tiny lol!! I managed to get rid of most of the excess glue from the card!!

The image is coloured using watercolour pencils & the ribbon was in the blog candy I won from Jennifer.

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, we've had another scorcher here in Leeds. Long may it continue !!

ABC challenge - C is for charms

I've made my own little charm on this card using alphabet beads & some pink & white accent beads in different sizes.

The image is Pink Petticoat , the ribbon & DP are Papermania, the flowers & brad are from Poppicraft & the round sentiments are Cuddly Buddly.

What a lucky girl I am !!!

I am very late in posting this as Jennifer was kind enough to post the candy I won so quickly that I received it 2 days after the draw closed !!!

There are so many gorgeous images & the charms are so cute I can't wait to use them.
Thank you so much Jen.

A Spoon Full Of Sugar - Challenge 8 One for the girls

Here is my card for this weeks challenge. Most of the cards I make are for girls so it wasn't a hard task lol!!

The image is the cute Sugar Nellie stamp 'flowers' which I've coloured using Whispers, watercolour pencils & Sakura Tiara. After I took the picture I highlighted the image with a white gel pen which gave it more dimention.

The flowers & brad are from Poppicraft, the ribbon is from a QVC kit & the rest is from my stash. The DP is Brenda Pinnick which was also from QVC & the pink card is Bazzill Bling run through the cuttlebug.

I will add the sentiment to the top left hand side when I decide what it is for!!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 18

This weeks challenge is to make a card for a child. I always think of adults as 18 & above so hopefully I just scrape in with this card for a 17 year old lol!!
This card is a classic example of never been able to charge in full for labour!!
My order was for
"A card for a red haired girl with L plates & a nervous looking father with the wording - Happy 17th Birthday Sazzy Good Luck"
This was an order through a friend of mine who I do the line dancing sizzix dolls (earlier in my blog) it was her friend who's the grandma of Sazzy. What a tall order !!! Not only the thinking time but also the making time.
I decided to give my sizzix girl some trendy Ellison die cut clothes & doctored the doll die cut to fit (basically lopped off the head & hands & stuck them on LOL!!) Unfortunately this then made 17 year old Sazzy alot taller than her nervous dad!! so I had to give him a Quickutz shirt & hand cut his trousers to make his legs look longer (wouldn't it be lovely if it was that easy to add a couple of inches in real life!!). All very time consuming but rather theraputic !!

The rest is cuttlebug & stash with Papermania DP.

I was cheeky & charged a bit more than a normal A5 card but no price had been discussed by my friend to Grandma so hopefully she will be happy.

ABC Challenge 2 - B for Baby

I seem to have had alot of baby cards to make just recently !! it must be something in the water lol!!
I've used one of my favorite cuttlebug folders & the DP is Kay & Co. The teddy is a large wooded die (I can't remember the make!!) embellished with a little blue bow tie. The ribbon is from my stash & the tiny feet are from Mad about Cards.

Sarah Kay Weekly Challenge #1 Lovely Lilac

Thanks to the lovely Jacqui I've been able to take part in the First challenge on the Sarah Kay Weekly Challenge. These images are gorgeous & I want them ALL!!!!
The DP is from a Papermania pack & I've cuttlebugged a piece of lilac card & then used the Sizzix original scalloped tag die. Jacqui had used this on the wallet she sent me with the images & I thought it was such a lovely effect that I thought I'd pinch it lol!! (I have told Jacqui though!)
The ribbon, buttons & flower are from my stash & the sentiment is Cuddly Buddly.
I've also done a bit of distressing around the image.

YAH !!! I've got Sarah Kay images . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . thanks to the lovely Jacqui . I couldn't wait for my camera battery to charge hence a couple of part coloured images in the picture lol!!!. Pop across to Jacqui's blog, she makes some beautiful cards, no wonder she is a DT member. Am off now to complete my card for the Sarah Kay challenge blog (smiles smuggly lol!!!) x

My Time To Craft - Seasons

I made a card for this challenge last week using a lovely Kay & Co summery paper with bright flowers & butterflies on it but by the time I had finished the card only a little peek of the paper could be seen so I decided not to upload it. This morning while blogg hopping I came across a 'flip flop' card on Wendy's blog. I had already been admiring her DT post for Tilda & Co where she has made a post it note holder & will be having a go at that another day. She has so many refreshing ideas. Anyway, the flip flop card seemed ideal for showing off this lovely paper so I had another go at the 'My Time To Craft' challenge. Better late than never as it ends at 10pm today !!.
Excuse my finger in the first photo, it was the only way I could keep the card closed LOL!!

I've used a DCWV Bloom & Dovercraft brad in the centre.
Thanks for looking.

Shaz's Blog Candy

Just had a bit of a panic. I found this challenge this morning, to make a card using the colours blue, pink & green. Off I went to make my card, came back to upload it & couldn't remember the blog details. I hadn't saved it to Google Reader (I have now) & I hadn't saved it to favorites (I have now lol) so how did I come across it this morning.

Then I remembered the DP I decided to use was a free download from Funky Fairy

called Doodlementals & that I had used it for a reason ?? I'm sure my memory is getting worse.

Yah . . . . . there I found the link to Shaz's Blog (The Funky Fairy!!!)

I'd used the DP as it was perfect colourwise & it had come free from Funky Fairy.
The image is Nellie with Foal which I had already coloured. The white & pink cardstock have been cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots & Happy Birthday folders. The ribbon is from my stash & the flowers I have made from vellum & finished off with bling. The Happy Birthday stamp & the flower corner are both Cuddly Buddly.
Thanks for looking.

Jennifers Blog Candy

Jennifer is offering some very generous blog candy which includes Sarah Kay stamped images amongst lots of other goodies. Pop across & have a look. - ends 13/7/08

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 17 - The great outdoors

The challenge this week is to make a card with an outdoor theme.

I've used my cute little girl whose climbing out of the farmers field after picking some wild flowers to take to Grandma's house this afternoon. Although if she were here in Leeds she would have her Fifi Flowertots wellies on as it's bucketing down lol!!
The DP is Kay & Co & must be one of the first DP's I bought over 4 years ago. Not sure why I've never used any of it but thought you must all be sick of my Papermania Retro Floral !!
I've run the maroon cardstock through the cuttlebug but after I've finished embellishing the card you can't really see much of it but I know it's there lol!
The flowers are from Cuddly Buddly as is the sentiment stamp. I only ordered a sample pack of these flowers but I'll be ordering more for definate. I've decorated the centre of the flowers with tiny pearl accent beads & finished off with a little bit of bling & lace.

ABC Challenge 1 - A is for animals

I've been dying to use my Sugar Nellie - Nellie with foal stamp. I've had it a few weeks now but not had a card order or challenge to fit until this weeks ABC challenge. I've used the retro paper & a Craftwork Cards frame which I've highlighted with chalks to match the PP & the colouring on the image. The flowers are from Cuddly Buddly & the ribbon & swirl brad are from Poppicrafts.

A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge 6 - Circles

Now onto this weeks challengeCirclesAll you have to do is make a card with a circle somewhere in the design, could be on the paper or the greeting or whatever else you can think of as long as it has a circle on.

For this weeks challenge I've used the cute Maggie with present stamp from Sugar Nellie.
I've paper pieced the present & mounted it on 3D foam.
The image has been coloured with watercolour pencils & whispers pens.
I've used the Nestabilities circle dies for the image & the scalloped circle & the DP is retro floral (I really must start using different DP lol!!)
I cut the letters using Sizzix Girls Are Weird.

Speechless Twice In One Day !!

Definately a record lol!!

My blog candy win arrived from Jennifer. What a very, very generous lady she is. Not only was there the advertised candy but she had slipped in a surprise of a set of 3 Stampin Up stamps. The ribbons are gorgeous & I can't wait to get my Mojo started on them.

Jennifer has a fabulous blog & her cards are so creative it really is worth a visit.

Speechless

Now this doesn't happen very often but my messages this morning have rendered me speechless !! I have been given this award by 3 lovely fellow bloggers Cass, Donna & Vicki. All 3 have fantastic blogs which I love to visit & make stunning cards.

I now have to nominate up to 7 other blogs so here goes.

I would like to pass this on to

I had a couple more but I notice from their blogs that they already have this award.
